Mark's Introduction to the e-book series

There's nothing more relaxing than having someone read to you, so I thought it would be fun to record myself reading my very own tales. To listen to a story, simply pick one from the list below, and at the top of the destination page you'll see a section where you can do the following:

  • Listen: If you have QuickTime installed, then you can listen to a tale by simply clicking the 'play' icon at the top of the page.

  • Download as AAC or MP3: You can also download my tales to your iPod (in which case you should download the AAC file) or other MP3 player (in which case you should download as an MP3 file). To find out which format is best for you, read this explanation of AAC and MP3.

  • Subscribe to My Podcast: If you have iTunes, then you can have new audiobooks delivered to you automatically if you subscribe to my podcast.

If there's a tale you'd really like me to record that isn't listed below, drop me a note on my Guestbook and I'll see what I can do. If you're interested in how I recorded my audiobooks, see the site credits page.

Tales Available as Audiobooks

File Formats

Each audiobook can be downloaded in two formats:

  • AAC: These files will only work with iTunes and iPods, but they contain a number of enhancements such as images, chapter information and bookmarking. To load an AAC audiobook into iTunes, simply download the file by clicking on the relevant link at the top of the tale, and then drag the saved file into your iTunes library. You should then be able to find the book in the Audiobook section, under the author 'Mark Moxon'. All my AAC audiobooks are recorded in stereo at 32 kbps per channel.

  • MP3: These files will work with any MP3 player, so if you don't use iTunes or an iPod, this is the format for you. Click on the relevant link at the top of the tale to download your MP3 file; you can then load it into your MP3 player software in the appropriate way. All my MP3 audiobooks are recorded in mono at 64 kbps.

Creative Commons Licence

I've released my audiobooks via a Creative Commons Licence, which means you are free to distribute them to everyone and anyone, as long as you do this on a non-commercial basis and make no changes to the files. If you know someone who might like to listen to my audiobooks, please pass them on; I make no money from any of this, but I do enjoy the thought of people listening to my audiobooks and recommending them to their friends. Or, I suppose, their enemies...
